There is a psychology principle that a behavior that is rewarded is repeated often. Happiness is a Choice and talking talking about what distresses you makes the memory much stronger and problematic.

This is a social experiment. Noticed how low moods tend to get a lot of hugs and TENS almost none. We are reinforcing the idea that one should advertise their low mood to get attention.

Yeah! I've got loads, this is a big challenge for me as well. I do an hour of bright light and no screens (phone/computer/tv) in the morning. Then b/f I check any messages or email I meditate.

I try to keep the computer/work out of the bedroom. When I know I need to sleep I 'power down' and no longer look at or answer any messages.

I would *ideally* do that an hour b/f sleep but it hasn't been realistic for me, so I just power down asap. Mabye watch a relaxing movie, but again I think no screens is better at the end (and the beginning) of the day.

Also incentivizing really works for me, so I suggest finding something special that is only for those protected am/pm buffer times.

4 example I'm working on a craft that I only do in the mornings for that 1st hour when I wake up. I also want to get some nice scented lotion for nite to give me a treat when I make it to bed:)
